During the early 1900's, Will Rogers was the most highly paid movie actor of the time. From a modest life as a farmerboy in Oaklahoma, Rogers ended up in Hollywood as a destinguished newspaper columnist and a beloved actor. But even before his first silent movie in 1917, He was already a world class horse showman, traveling around the world performing as a horsemen, cattle wrangler and his most famous event, rope tricks. Besides being a very prestegious cowboy, Rogers was a thinker. His speeches were enjoyed by all because of the amount of humor he had in them. Though quite humerous, they included serious topics of the time that he dressed very directly. Roger's life came to an end in 1932 when his plane crashed in Alexka territory. (1-395)

"I was not a child prodigy, because a child prodigy is a child who knows
as much when it is a child as it does when it grows up." -Will Rogers (1-395)
Will Roger's was a very simple farm boy when he was young. Though he was naturally talented with different abilities, he never thought himself any different from the other kids he knew. Will would work for different people that lived around his farm as a farmhand. From his jobs, he began to learn the arts of riding, roping, and cattle wrangling. Little did he know that these essential skills for a boy growing up on farm, would take him around the world and become a career.

"I never met a person I didn't like" -Will Rogers (1-395)
Roger's was a very friendly person that enjoyed company. He was kind to

His good attitude enabled him to excel through life with good fortune.
"Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for." -Will Rogers (1-395)
Though Will Roger's was famous for his movie's, he was also into politics. His columns in nationally-syndicated newspapers talked about his views of current day politics with comedy thrown in to keep the readers entertained. He was a great thinker and because his views were so stright foward, people found his columns easy to read. Though he never ran for a political position, he was quick to point out the flaws of the administration.
"Everyboy is ignorent, only on different subjects"

There is no secret meaning to this quote. People are interested in different things which gives them greater knowledge on a certin subject compared to others. Some assume that someone else is ignorent just because they are not learned in the others knowledge. If everyone thought that everyone else was ignorent just because they did not sudy a subject they were fluent in.
Will Roger's autobiography depics a story of an american hero. To me, Mr. Rogers represents the American dream of a small farm boy making it big in Hollywood. Staying modest and down to earth even with all his fame makes Will Rogers a model of a true star because he never forgot where he was from and tried to be pleasent to everyone he met. Most celebrities today are too cocky for their own good, Roger's did films to entertain people rather then being in it for money. What Roger's did for the world with his influences on politics, films, and Horse riding set and example for stars later on to try and fellow.
